The Dance Youth Company Program here at ACT I Academy strives to create a healthy, encouraging and positive dance environment. The company program is great for those wanting to train at a pre-professional level in dance with multiple performance opportunities. Our program has a modern/contemporary emphasis with class offerings of all genres available. Dancers in the company put on 2 full length productions a year, one being alongside of our resident professional company Highland Springs Dance Company. As well, the company dancers have multiple community performance opportunities throughout the year. Our company program does not participate in dance competitions. And our productions are story based, not recital based programs. Past productions include such shows as: “A Queens Star, Esthers story”, “Adventures in Narnia”, “Ray of Hope” and “Never Alone”.

Youth Company Level 1
(Ages 8-10)

Each student will have the opportunity to participate in two performances a year

Youth Company Apprentice Level
(Ages 16+)

Apprentice level is for highly trained contemporary dancers to have the opportunity to train and perform alongside our resident professional company “Highland Springs Dance Company”.

Each student will have the opportunity to participate in two full length productions as well as multiple community performances throughout the year.
