ACT I DANCE COMPANY

 ACT I Dance Company is the resident professional company of ACT I Academy. The company’s mission is to educate, explore and help to encourage and build community through the arts. Through performances and workshops, ACTIDC is here to serve you, the community. Contemporary and ballet are the primary genres of the company, but within productions you will see everything from tap to jazz, swing, and hip hop.

Established in 2021 under the direction of Christina Weinzetl, ACTIDC was featured in two productions this past season including “Never Alone”, a dance interpretation of the holiday favorite Home Alone, and “Ray of Hope”, a productions inspired by stories of women set in the 1940’s. Alongside of their two annual full length productions, ACTIDC has community outreach performances throughout the year at festivals, churches, schools, and more.   • Performance & Workshop Bookings

    We are currently taking bookings for this upcoming season.

    • Illustrated sermons- bringing the word of God to life through dance

    • Event Entertainment- make your event stand out with live entertainment. Our company is well trained in multiple styles to help match any event theme.

    • Workshops- we have workshops that cater to ages 3-100. Whether you are looking for a fun workshop to get people moving and grooving, or something more on the therapeutic side, dance is a great tool to bring people together for a great time.

    • Production sneak preview- if you are wanting to support the arts and get a glimpse of an upcoming production, you can book a sneak preview which includes excerpts from the production as well as a Q&A.

    • Music artists- this is for musicians looking to book dancers and/or choreographers for an upcoming music video or show.

    HSDC is always looking for highly trained and passionate dancers to join our vision. We have an apprenticeship program for dancers ages 16 and up. Professional company positions are available to dancers 18+. The company is currently part time, but there are teaching opportunities available within the academy. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in setting up an audition, being a guest choreographer or want more information on our apprenticeship program.

  • Once Upon a Twirl

    Presented by our resident professional dance company, ACT I Dance Company, we invite you to join us for a magical event! Once Upon a Twirl is a vibrant, family-friendly dance production inspired by beloved classic fairy tales—reimagined with playful twists, whimsical themes, and plenty of heart. Designed especially for younger audiences, the show features dynamic choreography, colorful costumes and sets, and exciting moments of audience participation. Audience members will have the chance to influence the storyline, assist with props, and immerse themselves in a world where imagination takes center stage.
